At VEA, we recognize that LGBTQ+ students and staff often face unique challenges in our schools. They’re frequently targeted for bullying, harassment, and discrimination, and students have higher suicide rates than their peers. They need and deserve safe and affirming public schools. This is why VEA’s LGBTQIA+ Standing Committee has designed and created inclusive buttons and stickers. These were designed with Virginia’s students and staff in mind, and when worn, students can identify safe and supportive staff members.
